홈마 선생께서 미국 콜로라도 덴버에서 이곳 동티모르 딜리를 방문하셔서 잠깐 지도를 하시겠다며 갑작스런 결정을 내리셨다. 이곳 동티모르에서 체류하는 동안, 내가 존경하는 모든 선생들께 (비)정기적 리포트를 보내면서 꽤나 귀찮게 해드렸다. 어떤 선생님들은 답변을 주시고, 어떤 분들은 묵묵부답. 홈마 선생은 후자 쪽. 그러나 선생은 급작스런 카운터 펀치 한 방으로, PNTL Academy 사무실에 있던 나를 비명지르게 만드셨다.
Homma sensei decided to have a sudden trip to TL from Denver, Colorado, USA to visit me and conduct a small class. During my stay in TL, I've been disturbing every senseis whom I know and show respect with reports on my activities. Some sensei replies, some never. Homma sensei was among who never reply. But suddenly he gave me a counter punch, which made me yell in the office of PNTL Academy.
현재 니폰칸 스탭들이 선생의 비행스케줄 확정을 위해 힘써주고 있으며, 방문은 이번 달 11월 17일부터 22일까지가 될 것이다.
Nippon Kan staffs are working on Homma sensei's flight confirmation, his visit will be from 17th to 22nd, November, this month.
설령 선생의 방문이 무산된다 해도 그리 실망하지는 않을 거다. 선생이 얼마나 많은 스케줄을 갖고 있으며, 이번 결정이 급작스런 것임을 알고 있으므로. 그저 내게는 선생이 나의 활동을 지켜보고 가치있는 것임을 인정해주셔서 먼 미국에서 이곳으로 오실 결심을 해주셨다는 것만으로도 너무나 영예롭고, 절대 잊어서는 안될 빚인 것이다.
I will not be that disappointed even if he can't make a visit, because I know it's a so sudden decision for a person filled with plenty of annual schedules. It's just so honorable for me that he take care of my activity and regards it valuable, and a great debt I should never forget paying back.
선생의 방문은 동티모르의 아이키도 수련생들에게 훌륭한 나눔이 되리라 믿는다. 난 이곳에서의 스스로의 명성에는 관심이 없다. 그저 동티모르가 보다 나아질 수 있는 다양한 기회를 계속 얻을 수 있기만을 바란다.
Homma sensei's visit to TL must be a good sharing for the TL Aikido students. I don't care of my own reputation. I just want the continuity of various chances for the country to be better.
