The 1st books from the left, it's a new edition of an earlier three-volume set of books on the tradition entitled, "The Deity and the Sword: Katori Shinto Ryu" published over 30 years ago through Minato Research, a publishing company of Sugawara sensei, you want to buy this old print? Copies routinely appear on e-bay with price tags in excess of $500.(At least! Some of them is over $1,000 by its ondition!)
왼쪽에서 첫 번째의 책은 30년도 더 전에 스가와라 선생의 미나토 리서치 출판사를 통해 출판된 "The Deity and the Sword: Katori Shinto Ryu"(전 3권)의 신판. 이 구판을 사고 싶다면? 중고들이 E-bay등에 나오고 있긴 한데, 500달러를 넘는 가격.(최소한! 상태에 따라 1,000달러를 넘는 것도!)
p.s. I have 5-volume set of "Traditional Aikido" by Morihiro Saito sensei, which is also published by Minato Research. It's now $725 on Amazon.com! It's really lucky I believe I could buy it at Kanda Jimbocho over 10 years ago.(payed about 20,000 yen I remeber) Midori sensei advised to buy it, frankly speaking, I didn't know much about Saito sensei at the time. Yes, you should follow sensei's advise. :) But the set lacked the 1st volume, and I found it at Tokorozawa dojo and copied it with a macine there(5 yen per page), and broke it, I confess.
p.s. 사이토 모리히로 선생의 "Traditional Aikido"(전5권)을 갖고 있는데, 역시 미나토 리서치를 통해 출판된 것. 아마존에서 지금 725달러에 팔리고 있다! 이걸 10여년 전에 칸다 짐보쵸에서 구한 건 정말 운이었다고 볼 수 밖에. (2만엔 가까이 줬던 걸로 기억.) 미도리 선생이 권한 건데, 솔직히 당시 난 사이토 선생에 대해 잘 알지 못했음. 역시 선생님 말씀은 잘 따르고 봐야 함. :) 하지만, 첫 번째 권이 빠져있는 것이었는데 도꼬로자와 도장에서 그걸 발견하곤 도장의 복사기로 복사하다가(장당 5엔씩 계산) 결국 복사기가 고장났었음..
